Teaching children water safety and learning to swim through fun

Since 2006, Sue Mickelson Swimming has been teaching children how to swim with our core philosophy: we teach water safety and learn-to-swim through fun. We are a family-owned swimming school located in Chermside West. Our classroom is an outdoor, magnesium pool which is heated to a comfortable 32 degrees. We are all about adapting our lessons to your child’s needs so that they can become the best little swimmers and gain lifelong skills – whilst making friends and having fun!

Sue Mickelson

Owner / Instructor
In 2006, I established my swim school that focuses on the importance of water safety. I wanted the swim school to have a sense of community, a safe learning environment and most importantly my students to enjoy themselves.

My core teaching philosophy has and will always be that children need to enjoy what they are doing in order to learn and grow.

We love Sue's swimming classes! My 6yo twins emerge from the pool saying 'that was the best one yet!' after every lesson. Sue works with the younger teachers to ensure everyone is learning and that small problems don't become bigger ones down the track. You won't find a better swim school on the northside.
